With the new website now well and truly live and kicking, we are continuously looking for new ways to improve the online experience at Machines Room. For those of you reading this who are not yet members (ahem, why not?) the website is at the core of how Machines Room operates for both members and the staff. We’ve just added FOUR great new features which we hope will make using the site and Machines Room an even more streamlined experience.
1. My Account – UI Overhaul
The My Account section on the site was pretty unorganised. It’s been on my to-do list for a while, but it’s finally been revamped. You can now expect to find everything nicely categorised with an account menu making it much easier to navigate.
2. Account Funds – New Feature!
In the new My Account section, you will also be able to find the new Account Funds section. This is something Gareth has had in mind for quite some time. Here you can pre-pay a sum to your online account to be spent at a later date. ‘But, why would I do this?’ I hear you ask. Well, any purchase you make with pre-paid account funds will instantly give you a 5% discount… on anything!
3. Volunteer Credits / Points & Rewards – New Feature!
Finally! This feature is long overdue and has been requested by almost every volunteer. The volunteer credit system is now online and 100% digital. You can see your credit balance in the My Account section as well as a history of changes to the credit account. No more paperwork, woohoo!
4. Gift Vouchers – New Product!
We’ve been toying with gift cards for a while, and we now have a category on the website for gift vouchers. Know someone new to the maker movement? Think it’s something they’d like to get involved with? Give the gift of making!
We have a multitude of new improvements still in the pipeline, and we will announce them as we begin rolling them out. In the meantime, we would like to remind you that we love to hear what you think!
