Books for Brikama

AlaSan Gent Ceesay is a volunteer at Small Works Victoria and is currently collecting books and other supplies to send back to his hometown of Brikama in The Gambia. His inspiration for the collection stems from a visit to Brikama’s only library last year where he saw that they did not have any books. This saddened him greatly and his wish is that this Christmas the WHOLE COMMUNITY will gain access to free books to read and enjoy.

In light of this he has secured a sea container on a ship which sails to Brikama in the FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER. He is inviting people to join forces with him and FILL THE CONTAINER!

It is a BIG task and any contributions will be greatly received including; books for all ages (old or new), school equipment, school bags, pens, pencils, toys , clothing, sweets, household goods and anything else that would be suitable as Christmas gifts for children.
